Hunting Down The Best Riding Mower
When you are thinking about buying a riding lawn mower it is an exciting time. The chance to buy
a big, fun and useful piece of kit is always interesting.
These machines can be very expensive though, and it is a good idea to clearly lay out your needs, wants and budget
before setting your heart on any particular model. Finding the best riding mower isn’t about looking for the
biggest engines or cheapest prices, it is about finding the best price and the most appropriate deals for you.
Your main consideration is probably what type of garden you have. If you have a small lawn area
then buying a top of the range, heavy duty monster with tons of accessories is not really necessary. Equally, if
you have a very expansive, steep or undulating area to cut then the smaller, less powerful models might not prove
up to the job.
Most riding mowers come with a recommendation of the size of area which they should be used in,
and this is a great starting point to narrow down your search. If you own a lawn of over 8,000 square meters then
you have immediately counted out a lot of machines as not being really suited to your needs.
The next stage would be to look at the existing customer’s consumer reviews on internet sites.
You have to be careful with these, as we all have different wants and needs and something which is perfect for
someone else might not suit you. However, if you come across a lot of people praising or criticizing the same
features on a model then you can start to get a feel for its good and bad points and its overall rating. This is a
fine way to help you continue to narrow down your options and you should now be getting a good idea of which of the
many riding mowers on the market is looking a good bet for you.
You are probably now ready to look at mowers for sale and to seek out the best deals on the type
of model which you have identified. It is always best to have 3 or 4 riding machines in mind when searching, as you
might just find a great bargain on one which wasn’t originally your first choice but which is irresistible at the
offer price you have come across.
If you see that the model you really wanted is out of your price range then don’t despair, you
still have some options open to you. If you wanted a John Deere or Honda, or one of the other big names, then these
come with a hefty price and lowering your sights to a less well known brand might just get you a great mower at a
better price.
You could also look at used riding mowers. These are sturdy machines so provided that the
previous owner was careful and conscientious with the maintenance then it should still give a great performance.
Finally, if you would rather not take the chance with a used model then you could have a look at the new ranges of
push mower. Some of these new models are much better than those we had to use years ago and may be an excellent
stop gap until you are ready to re-start your search for the best riding mower .
